Shark Bytes

This was just another stupid Adult Swim show (with the exceptions of Futurama and sometimes Family Guy or Space Ghost Coast to coast) that you had to be drunk, wasted or stoned to laugh at(some other crapfests being Robot Chicken and Brak show). No plot, just random people exploding, animals mauling each other, people slinging poop and blood for 15 minutes. Hell, South park and the Simpson's are better and at least have half of a plot. This is when Cartoon Network jumped for me. The summer of 2001, When they canceled that 15 hours of The Flintstone's, Jetson's, Top cat, Tennessee Tuxedo, Garfield and Friends, 2 stupid Dogs, Dexter's Lab, Looney tunes, the National Film board of Canada short films (O' Canada), Johnny bravo, Hannah Barbera and the MGM original theatrical shorts, for this brain cell killing crap(thank God for Boomerang, but cable has to pay extra for it!). Even the Kids shows on CN are more entertaining than this bull. IMHO.

Like many an animated series before it was all downhill following the movie. I still remember the last season The ATHF weren't seen at all in the first fgew episodes. For what? Carl and those retarded robots? The fruity vampire landlord? It was a good run while it lasted.

I just watched this episode called "Robots are Everywhere" and in the entire show involved Carl and a house of boxy robots, and the actual characters of ATHF wern't to be seen anywhere, WTF?, I found it not funny, and hard to watch. Why would they do something like this? usually the show is funny with the ridiculousness of the characters and the storyline, but with that absent, it stinks!


It looks like it's very close to jumping the shark,sigh.

The show was always pretty decent, A little bit hit and miss with the jokes for me. The newer ones are alright but not as good as they used to be. hasnt jumped yet but its getting there if the writers dont smarten up.

The movie was Okay too. the part about frylock being a lesbian and all that kinda put me off but it wasn't shocking.

Wow, Max Paddington. And I guess you think "According to Jim" and "The George Lopez Show" are funnier, too. Perhaps you should stick to watching that.

to this Max Paddington what has the show struck one of your nerves? boo hoo go cry to your mother, oh yeah you don't have one! the point is this is an adult show trying new angles in comedy..unlike the rotting peice of crud you call family guy...Take that seth mcfarlen and fox...

The last couple years' episodes seem to be a bit desperate. Instead of berserk, off the wall antics we're getting increasingly gross stuff like the "hand banana" and "Carl's prize" episodes. The writers are capable of much funnier material. I worry that this late in the show's run the writers may be just getting bored with it.

I'm not especially into the spacecataz but I wasn't especially fond of Dr. Weird either I felt as if neither of them were/are really funny and they just sort of take away from the show. As for the show "losing its funny" it really hasn't it's just certain episdoes. Every season has the ones that make you wanna die from laughing and then the ones that you just sort of sit there and think wow that was dumb i just wasted fifteen minutes.

Honestly, talking fast-food garbage? Am I to believe my eyes? FANS of this pap? Come on people. I refuse to believe that my fellow man is this stupid.

Don't say "I don't get it." I get it. They're fast food leftovers. They've gone rotten. They talk. What's more to 'get'? The humor is nonexistent, and what's more this show heralded the beginning of truly bad 'adult' cartoons.

Let's take a look at that definition. "ADULT." Can you imagine anyone older than 13 actually laughing at this? Really? I guess all a show has to do to be called "Adult" is to have swearing and fat hairy naked guys in it.

If you're a fan of this show, I think you need your 'Adult' diaper changed.

Not funny. Not cool. God damn you ATHF, you ruined the cartoon network.

The second these new ones started. I love this show with a passion but these episodes are awful so I will go with Boost ******

The new ones make Assy Mcgee look like F'N Masterpiece Theater.

This is a truly great show that hasn't jumped the shark yet, but is approaching the tank. The show's failed to be consistently funny in the 4th and 5th seasons (The most recent good episode I've seen is Handbanana), and is really starting to lose steam.

Let's hope the writers can get their act together before they go over the shark.

First, I was a huge an ATHF fan as you could find. Seasons 1-4 were good, with season 4 slightly declining form previous seasons.

Then season 5 happened...

I honestly have no idea what season 5 is supposed to be. Instead of the back and forth insults between the ATHF crew and Carl, which were the funniest parts of the show, they decide on a show called Dickesode. Instead of with they settle for shock "humor". Did Tom "no talent" Green start writing for them?

Nothing else really needs to be said.

BTW, this show jumped the shark with the "Play All" gag on the season four DVD set. That proved that they cared less and less about the fans right there.

i dont think the show jumped.i think the last few seasons didnt go too well because of the focus of the movie-which i might add was really good.i havent got to see the new episodes yet but im hoping that they will still keep the same humor they got famous for.although i did notice the adult content getting heavier.

It's jumped. And it can't go any place but down further. It's gotten grisly and the jokes just aren't funny anymore. It's been on that decline for a while, but THE fateful episode was definitely Reedickyoulous. The moment a beheaded Shake happily jumped on the "gay zombie bus", the show became digested sharkfood.

The people who make this series changed their goal from how amusing they can be to how repulsive they can be. Too bad. Its prime was good while it lasted.
