I loved arsenio!!!!!

when I was 10, 11, and 12...
Growing up and watching Arsenio, I use to think he show was the sh@t. He would ask the type of questions that everyone wanted to know, yet being on national tv, Arsenio always took it one step further. If he wasn't kissing butt, he was totally ripping on his guest. I think that Arsenio got bigheaded when his rating went up and he though that he could get away with anything. Love him or hate him, you got to admit that he had some kick ass guest you wouldnt see on other talk shows. I also think that once the tv show In living Color started making fun of Arsenio, Arsenio became the butt of the joke..
If you go to Arsenio's official website, he says he resigned from his show because he wasn't happy doing it anymore and the chances for success in syndication with Letterman signing with CBS were limited. Whatever the hell that means. I can only guess he meant more markets were probably going to want Letterman over the his show which would be in the same time slot. So we're to believe he turned down MILLIONS in syndi royalties because he didn't want to compete with Letterman? Yeah right, the writing was on that wall. The show was heading downhill anyway, but the butt kissing he gave Farakahn, who is openly racist towards whites and Jews was, as a previous post put it, "the nail in the coffin." I'm black and I wanted cancel the show immediately after that.
I am sorry to hear that a distinguished author/photographer like Howard Bingham
was dissed like that. Arsenio doesn't seem to have much class.

I heard Arsenio on I believe it was Free Radio 97.3, I was crusing the internet dial and he was guest hosting with some woman and while the subject was about how many friends can you count on. The woman host had a list of friends and Arsenio kept mentioning Eddie and Ervin 'Magic" as friends.

But what disturbed me about this broadcast was how the conversations all turned vulgar and always about women's body parts.

When they started taking callers most of them were the usual Arsenio Hall kiss-ups, but one particular caller was an 11 year old girl who was talking about kid type of friend stuff and Arsenio commented on how 'that's right we have young people are listening to this show'.

Then he proceeded to make more vulgar comments while bantering with the willing female host only now he was using medical terms for women's body parts--like that was any better.

I am a black man who never liked his show anyway.

I don't believe he or any black celebrity speaks for all black people..most certainly for me.

And as for his bringing Farrakan on his show. I believe he was pressured by the same thug types he promoted to be more 'black' and that shows how shallow he is by accomodating them.

I work in IT Network Security and I often wonder why the media never 'highlights' positive black images--and yes I am tooting my own horn---like me.

I have a positive position in my job and it irritates me even today that the media only promotes athletes and celebrities.

I mentor young people of all races about technology.

Celebrities like Arsenio, Murphy, etc are just show.

The thing that bothered me was how Arsenio promoted SO many of the generations 'hardcore' rappers.

The same ones whos music promote violence in my old neighborhood.

While I was trying to help my neighborhood watch group eliminate violence, guys like Arsenio was elevating Ice Cube Ice T and whatever other Ice names there were.

To this day, those negative images permeate our community.

But lastly, Arsenio has ridden off into the sunset with all his millions.

He doesn't live in those neghborhoods.

Just me 2 cents
Arsenio Hall is an idiot that used Eddie Murphy`s raw natural talent to bolster his no talent too trying ass. He laughed at his own jokes that were not funny to anyone really but the losers he associated himself with. He tried to be a serious interviewer and failed at this miserably. His huge mouth showing his gums was disgusting. He should keep this awful site hidden..........
Arsenio was just a jerk...plain and simple but he would pretend to get to the bottom of things like when he started critizing Vanilla Ice for saying stuff about M.C. Hammer. Who realy cares? Good work Arsenio GOOD WORK!
Arsenio jumped the shark in 1992-93 when gangsta rap and grunge became all of the rage. Arsenio represented the fashion of the late 80's& early 90's in all of its glory. I saw Arsenio on the Tonight Show the other night and I remembered just how popular this show was from 1989-1992.

Arsenio's positive attitude could not compete with gangsta rap and grunge...
His mother named him well: Arse Hall.
When he had the hate monger Louis Farakhan on the show, everybody had enough of Arsenio. The network pulled the plug bevause of the complaints. I thought it was a tacky and embaraassing show when I watched it. I thought Arsenio lost his mind
Let's face it, Arsenion wasn't great and his time came and went. He was amusing but not great.

Two WOrds: ARSENIO BECKMAN!

I acutally thought there may of been a guy named Beckman, but there wasn't. Still a funny sketch.

"Let's get rowing!"
I remember Rickie Lee Jones' incredible 2 songs to this day on Arsenio's Show, what a magical moment! The songs represented the highest Rickie has ever been, right at her moment of her SNL , too!
I taped them both and played over a million times! Arsenio interviewed Rickie and that was special to me, the way they spoke to each other...softly...Thanks God! my tape is gone now, just hope the Internet got some of those still...
When I was in Paris recently, I met a French prostitute - no kidding! - named Sheena, who LOVED Arsenio. She told me she fantasized about him regularly! Oh, gotta go - I have a PM from Sheena..
Arsenio Hall ego did get a little big toward the end of the show but what bugs me is that white people are quick to say that a black host suck because he didn't have all "their greats" on his show. Now if a black man complains about not being on a white show then they say he sucks or is whinning. Make up your mind. He was funnier than a lot of his counterparts then and NOW. Jay Leno is the best that's on right now.
Did Arsenio ever book the late Johnnie Cochran? Now, Dusty may have been a cutie, but Johnnie was my TRUE Daddy-o!
When Arse-holio dissed John Candy...the late John Candy, that is.
What a jerk.
As a comedian, Candy blew Hall out of the water but here was this effeminate little twerp making fun of Candy's movie roles.
Hey, Arsenio, at least Candy HAD a film career!
