Does every show have to berate women for voting for Hillary or Sarah? Lovely touch to have the men rolling their eyes while the woman on the legal team reprimands the female defendant about what sexism 'really' is.

Used to be a favorite show. Kelley and his writers have to get over whatever p.o.'ed them during this election.... women's rights!
I used to love this show, but it started going downhill last season and now I can barely stand to watch it. Does Obama pay the writers to glorify him week after week? The storylines have also become tiresome. The first few seasons, there were interesting cases and a truly unique assortment of bizarre characters. I also enjoyed the romance between Julie Bowen and Michael J. Fox's characters. But now, the cases on BL are all related to some liberal cause or issue and all Alan Shore has to do to win is preach at the jury. Yuck! And I'm not even a conservative!
Not too hard to figure out who David K wanted us to vote for. The conversation (monologue) between Denny and Alan was a first. Shore preached and Denny just sputtered. First and probably last time Denny was at a loss for words. Just in time for the election.
Totally jumped this week for good. Can't even count on Denny Crane any more for an occasional right-wing view, even if it is portrayed as the whacko ravings of someone with madcow.

Alan completely dominated the show with anti-Bush comments.

Kelly, as he does with all his shows, has slipped into preachy stupidity.
WOW! Great show is all I can say. I have been rivited to this show since day one. I can't miss a show, I plan all my nights out around it and even have Boston Legal parties. Needless to say once this show ends I am going to have to get a life again...
David E. Kelley hates George W. Bush. We get it. The show is obviously biased. That's not what bothers me. What bothers me is that Kelley has abandoned any plot or character development this season. Every episode is just an excuse for Alan Shore to go into court and give a speech about how evil the Bush administration is. It's become boring.
Yikes!! the poo has hit the fan in Boston Legal. After a long wait finally the new season started, but alas the shark is being jumped as we speak. In stead of new and exiting episodes we are confronted by characters as bad caricatures of themselves... that's what we are. In the first few episodes again Denny shot someone, Jerry had a few new ticks and Alan a passionate speech about moral and law and half the cast in drag. Followed by that irritating Texan who finishes each and every line like this, that's what HE does! and the "Hoot-count" was unusually high. Sad when this happens, even some of the plotlines are so clearly copied from the Practice that its painful to watch. I used to be the biggest fan, Lee from Germany.
The great William Shatner and beauty Candace Bergen are both great for the show! But why did they have to add the really rather bad Betty White as a semi-regular/psychotic woman constantly in legal trouble? Who in the business owes White so many favors that she constantly gets all these parts despite her honestly lack of good looks or talent as either a comic or dramatic actress (not a farfetched theory at all as White was on tv in the early 50's when the tv business was just forming!)? Legions of Star Trek TOS fans, Murphy Brown fans and even old time Edgar Bergen (and his dummy Charlie McCarthy) fans should have been enough for a very sizable viewing audience! They didn't need Golden Girls fans!
My apologies to all.

There have been no postings after my last essay, and I am hoping that this is not because people are uncomfortable with last outburst.

My initial post here came after my first visit to the site, and while I was certainly not expecting universal agreement with my views, I was not expecting any name calling or insults in return. When these did come, I am embarrassed that I responded in kind, and I apologise to all. We are all surely entitled to our own opinions, and we should also be able to air these views on sites such as this one without resorting to belittling others who disagree and without fear of recrimination.

Good luck to everybody.
Hey englishman

Yes, something of a cheap shot, but the problem with people like Rod is that they try to drag you down to their level where they can beat you with their lifetime of experience.

Imagine him, a masters/CPA who earns 300k per year, (he shared that with the site in an earlier post) who resorts to personal abuse, can't string a coherent sentence together and has trouble with abstract concepts. In his wet dreams. BTW - what in the world is Kool Aid ?

The show is running out of steam, but is still worth watching.

You could be right about the cricket, alas ...

Yours in Denny-ness
Newchum

A cheap(ish) shot at Rod.

Rod

You say that you are a CPA, but,as the site disclaimer says, it is dangerous to take the claims of posts too seriously. As an example of this, you said on October 21 that you are a libertarian, and yet last year you were a Republican. see below
...................................
Cork, you're so simple-minded it isn't funny. We KNOW it's a liberal show. But we Republicans can laugh at both sides, as long as it's BOTH sides and FAIR.

(etc etc until)

That works for the low IQ set like Cork. but not the rest of us that can think.

................................

I can see that this is your post, Rod, the personal abuse an the poor syntax give you away. Going further back, you also say that you stopped watching the show some time in 2007. Which raises the question - how do you know what it is like now ?

Newchum

Your lot are toast in the next ashes series (a cricket reference, apologies to the non-believers).
Rod,

why do you watch TV at all when you could get so much more enjoyment just staring at yourself in the mirror ?
you two miss the point. I used to watch the show, loved it. I feel they ruined it BY putting in a political agenda, and it doesn't matter whether it's liberal or conservative. It wasn't necessary. why piss off 1/2 your audience? Why lose viewers? Drew Carey once said when ask which political party he liked, "I won't say cause I will lose half my audience". exactly.

What it shows is that it's more important to the writers to make a political point and express their view of the world than it is to do what they are supposed to do: entertain the viewers. So they ruin the show for 1/2 the people. that's just a waste of good talent and a story.

by the way, your jab about internet degrees is not much different of an 'attack' than calling me a name. but it falls a little short as becoming a CPA requires a little more work and knowledge than most internet donkeys, do that shot falls short. Kinda makes you look silly. or like a pinhead.
Hey Englishman.

The episode when Crane and Shore went flyfishing was also good.

Klingons ? Excellent.

Rod, looking through your previous, somewhat ranting, posts, this show obviously irks you, but where has all this vitriol gotten you ? BL is just a TV program, after all, and if enough people like the show, it stays on air, else it is canned. Perhaps it is time for you to move on, sport. Or not, it's up to you.
