This show didn't work because people who read gossip magazines don't want to think about how low-down and sleazy the tabloid business is. No one likes to be made to feel guilty about something they enjoy doing, especially when a celebrity like Cox-Arquette is doing the finger wagging behind the scenes.

Finally, this piece of utter crap was rightfully cancelled by the network. Looks like Courteney will be busy 'developing' her next piece of made-for-TV garbage with her hubby....or getting her next lip enhacing injection to offset her skeletor frame.

I agree with a previous poster who said this show tries too hard to shock. Do we really need to see Courteny Cox using a vibrator? Ewww. Do we need to see Holt vomiting bloody worms? Not really. But alas, the premise is very entertaining re: the skanky business of tabloids.

I hear Dirt is coming back for a second season in 2008. (Hope the writer's strike doesn't push it back any farther.) In the meantime, I'll wait for the Season 1 DVD price drop.

Please bring Dirt back for another season.

I think most of the "Dirt" haters on this site are women, and I'll tell you why later. Even though my mom and I both watched this show, we had to watch it in different rooms, since I didn't feel right watching this kind of show with my mom. I even locked my door. Anyway, Courteney Cox is smokin' hot on this show. I thought she was cute on Family Ties, she had aged well between F/T and Friends, but she is so dirty and mean on this show I just couldn't help being attracted to her. While the girl you knew on F/T was the marrying kind, "Lucy" is the one you bring home that tears it up in the bedroom, if you ever make it to the bedroom. The other girls on the show were cute, and the stripper that Rick Fox was banging in the hot tub was hot, too. (I liked that whole plotline with the blackmail, but in retrospect, every other episode consisted of some kind of blackmail). Now being a relatively young, red-blooded male, hot and cute looking women on a show is all I really need to keep me watching. (I call this the "Haley Scarnato" rule, named after the American Idol contestant. After she was eliminated, I lost interest in the show.) I am pretty sure most other guys feel this way about shows they watch on TV: if it doesn't have cool cars or hot girls, it probably won't get watched. Back to my first comment: I think women needed their equivalent to the components I just mentioned, and there really wasn't that much for women to latch onto with this show, short of the actor driving the Mustang.

I am so sad not to see both DIRT and THE RICHES on the weekly lineup anymore. I have been listening to hear any word about whether either show would resume in the near future and both seem to have disappeared faster than they showed up. I LOVED BOTH shows. Both THE RICHES and DIRT were different in many ways from the usual TV fare with interesting plots and sub plots that kept me tuned in every week. WHEN ARE DIRT AND THE RICHES GOING TO RETURN? I am anxiously waiting.

The concept of Dirt isn't too bad. Just about everyone likes a little sleaze from time to time but, Dirt tries too hard to shock. I actually like Courtney Cox but, she's horribly miscast in this show. There's nothing mean or hard assed about her and she comes off as a parody of what a real mean woman would be. The saddest moment has to be the Jennifer Aniston/lesbian kiss controversy. The episode was over hyped and made a big deal out of because the Friends girls were being bad. Oooooh...scandal! In reality, the episode was not scandalous and was hardly anything to get worked up about. The kiss lasted all of 5 seconds and was the most passionless moment in TV history (aside from the Michael Jackson/Lisa Marie Presley kiss). The Friends actors serious need to kick back, live off the millions they raked in from Friends and stop subjecting the general public to their attempts at shedding their Friends personas. It's not gonna happen and it's painful to watch. Sorry guys!

This show has not yet jumped the shartk, as far as I'm concerned. Courteney Cox and, especially, Ian Hart are great. Could I live without some of the sex scenes? Yes, I guess I could. But it's better than something like Grey's Anatomy, which I used to like but has become an incredibly lame and whiny show.

I have to disagree with all of you. I loved the concept of te show, I have never seen a show about the paparazzi before and I found it very interesting.

But I do have to agree that it is no "Friends" nothing will ever come close again (especially not for the cast of Friends)

And whats up with all the nasty nasty in this show?????? I mean a little bit can be delt with but that was just waaay to much, you know?

Definitely the worst of the FX shows. FX is the WORST station of all time, tied with VH1. Dirt, The Shield, Nip Tuck, Rescue Me, The Riches, Over There, they all have a good concept on paper, but then blow it by showing over the top shock stuff that not even HBO can touch! It's ridiculous how anyone can find this show entertaining. How can we top the bizareness and violence of Nip Tuck or The Shield? Let's show soft core sex scenes! Lucy using a vibrator! MORE SEX! If they could make this into a Skinemax softcore and actually showing nudity with no storylines I wouldn't complain. But this show tries so hard to be edgy it's a joke.

Well, it seems as if Courteney Cox has hit the big time with her new series 'Dirt'. Oh, um, excuse me, It would seem I am thinking of her inflated ego, overrated acting style (if you can call that acting) and her ever increasing collagen lips when I think of the term 'big time'.

Scripts and stories: utter garbage.

What a perfect title for such a low-grade series.

Ugh.
