OMG!!! It was stupid to kill off the part of melinda's life that was normal, but they were doing a decent job until the end. When I saw Jim jump into the dead guy's body, I actually shouted at the tv. Aaaaagh!!! When will they learn? If they just kept going, they could have probably gotten Jay Mohr back since his show is being cancelled. Then, they could make something interesting of that and get rid of jaimie Kennedy. This dead Jim love interest thing is the death of this show...RIP Ghost Whisperer. There's no way you can recover from this one.
C'mon already. Cross over and make room for another Friday night show's death.
I used to love Ghost Whisperer. This season though it seems its just one stupid thing after another.I guess it kinda started last season when they replaced Ned with a different person. But now this season is just nuts.Especially with Jim dieing and then transfering to another body.I thought Jim and Melinda were supposed to have a baby? What a way to kill a story line.
This season has been a series of jumps if you ask me.

First, she was having visions. When did she *ever* have visions in past seasons?

Then, she was inside a computer game?! What's up with that?

Next, Jay Mohr leaves and was replaced with Jamie Kennedy. Ok, so he's funny too, but it's too similar and it's like he's *trying* to fill that spot. Not a good choice.

Now, Jim dies. He's awesome and he's dead, and then he jumps into the other body. I was thinking how ridiculous it was and then I rolled my eyes when the teaser for the next episode showed her friend (Andrea's replacement) telling her this is a new chance for love. What the heck?!

Oh, and I forgot to mention how Ned is suddenly 4 years older. That would actually count as jump #1.
I am not that outraged by the death of Jim. I think it was a stupid move but was not a show killer for me. What has killed the show for me is the RIDICULOUS storyline of Jim's soul jumping into another body and CBS trying to foster a relationship between a corpse that now has Jim's soul in it and Melinda.

CBS took a risk killing off Jim but I would have continued to watch the show and see Melinda cope and then get on with her life with her gifts. Trying to keep Jim around in "spirit" in another man's body is just gross, stupid and uncalled for. This show is deleted off my DVR queue and I probably will never watch again.
Totally Jumped Shark this past episode.

I have been watching the show forever, just because it is mindless and I don't have to think about anything while I watch it.

Now it has turned to the truly ridiculous with Jim refusing to "go into the light" and now jumping into a recently deceased body to stay with Melinda. Come on, please.
To be honest, I've been an off-and-on fan of Ghost Whisperer, but the last few episodes have brought me back into the fold. Initially, I tuned in just to see if they really dared to go through with it. I was convinced with all the threat of fan backlash at the idea of losing David Conrad, it would turn out to just be a ploy to raise the ratings for a couple of episodes (which it still could be.) I watched the episode with a renewed interest in the direction of the show, and the following episode started off brilliantly. Jim as a ghost opened up opportunities to explore the "other side." Does everyone have to "cross over?" Is there a time limit? What happens if they refuse to? The show could've gone on beautifully with Jim as a ghost; learning more about Melinda then he ever could've alive. I don't know why the writers felt like they had to push the envelope.
I have to say after seeing them kill off Melinda's husband , Jim and him enter another persons dead body...I think it may have jumped than. I did really like this show. When main characters leave any program is going to suffer. That is what is happing here and now. I really loved Melinda & Jim's love story. Now are they gonna have her get with this 'new' guy? I hope not. Jim should've crossed over into the 'light'. I really liked Jay Mohers character better than this new guy. I'll watch it but I tell you if it keeps getting more strange I don't think I will be watching it anymore. I guess CBS wants this program to fail. I still can't believe they killed her husband off. Horrible writing if you ask me.
The show really jumped the shark last night! It was bad enough they kept eliminating the main cast of characters, but to kill of the husband and then have him enter a dead body... It's worse than when the Fonz jumped the shark!
It was bad enough when they replace Jay Mohr with Jamie Kennedy yuck! They could have gotten somebody better. But now that they have killed Jim forget it. Jim was the sanity in the show, kept it normal if you will. The show needs to "go into the light" now.
It's so sad. The previous weeks episode was so poignant with Melinda crying as Jim flatlines. Even last nights episode was good until Jim jumped into that other guys body. The coming attractions for next week looks even worse when Delia is heard telling Melinda that she has a second chance with her true love..ugh!
I hope this doesn't become a trend. I'd hate to see CSI bring back Gary Dourdain's character, Warrick, by having his ghost jump into the body of Ted McGinley.
JIm possessed a dead guy and is coming back to life in a different body. WTF?
I'm getting dizzy from all the different directions the show is taking. It's like the writers are making it up as they go along. First it was a happy show about a woman helping people cross over, then it went creepy and it was a show about demons and the dark side, then it seems to be a story of romance and lost love. Actually now it's just confusing. If that wasn't enough, every time a character becomes too popular on the show, they kill them off. Looks like someone doesn't like to share the attention. Watch out Cameryn!
I just have one questioon when will TV shows learn the valueable lesson, you don't lose two pivotal chracters in one seasn and expect viewers to remain happy because guess what they aren't. History has proven this, look at Grey's Anatomy, last year they lost Kate Walsh to her own series and refused to renew Isaiah Washington's contract, so their chracters were both written out, add that to some SL's that totally tanked and the show started to show a ratings slump. Now GW is making this same fatal mistake, losing Andrea at the beginning of season two was one thing (yes a crushing blow but the show still rebounded from it) but first losing Jay Mohr to his own series and now killing off Jim all in the same year, hey GW maybe you didn't get the GA memo about how losing two crucial chracters in one year is not a good thing yes GA still has the ratings, not what they use to be but still stellar, I don't think GW can afford to make the same mistake, and rebound from it. It would of been one thing if Mohr were still on the show, but TPTB pick now when his chracter isn't there to kill off Jim, and leave Melinda without her husband. What is that? Its bad enough there are few if any married people in prime time, why do this to one of the few married couples who actually weren't boring, this show isn't about Melinda's personal life its about her communicating with the spirit world and helping the sprit's to cross over, the fact that she had a husband actually helpped this show stay on that track, as for the person who said he held her back, when did that ever happen? One o the things I loved about Jim was his understanding of what Melinda did, they had a perfect relationship, without Jim, this show has seriously loss something, and I don't know if they can recoer from it. Ater all GA is still on life support after their mistake of last year too bad GW didn't learn from that.
I haven't seen this show in a while, so I didn't even realize that Jim died until I found this thread. I used to really enjoy this program, but then it got too dark for me. the storylines got too strange and I found it very difficult to follow. :( oh well. I don't think Jay Mohr's new show is all that bad- I've seen that on Wednesday nights, and I think it's cute! ;)
