I really like this show!! ;) I especially like how the characters play so well off each other. I don't think it ever JTS!! hee hee!
Nov. 17 episode about Charlie not being able to sleep over at his girlfriend's house told me they have nothing left. It's jumped.
The producers were digging themselves into a hole for most of season 5 but I think it finally jumped with the "CSI" episode - that was the stunt that made me unable to enjoy the show anymore.
I hope that kid doesn't read these posts. He is not ugly. You people are evil personified.
The writers had worked well the Jake transition from kid to pre-teen, but now his lines suck and Angus T. Jones acts like he's in a coma.
Jake going from an amusing kid to a pathetic adolescent is sinking this show. I also don't lke how Charlie has become more level-headed and reasonable than Alan. It's simply a different show than it was, and not in a positive way.
I think it's circling the drain. Jake isn't adding anything to the story anymore. Someone should sit him down and straighten him out. He's fat, annoying and that haircut makes his big head look even bigger.

Now the should should be called "2 Men and a Really Annoying Kid".
The kid's acting is really bad this season.
Maybe it always was and I never noticed!
I, too, think that in its earlier years this show was about as funny as a TV sit/com has ever been. I am not egotistical enough to say that it is the funniest show on the air because I know the difference between subjective and objective criticism. Why is it that so many of the contributers here fail to make that distinction?
the show finally jumped the shark with the departure of rose episode. that and the fact that it was a 2-parter is clearly blood in the water...it was a good run and the re-runs still delight, but time to let it die in peace, not pieces....
The 2007 season. Jake is too old and is not that great of an actor. When he was a little kid, his mistakes were easily covered but now he is fat, dumb, and ugly with lines that are totally predictable. It may be time to go in another direction if the series is to continue.
This show was once one of the funniest on tv. Now, it is pretty much hit or miss. There are a few funny lines but, overall, it has become kind of a one-joke affair. Has it jumped? Probably; I just can't say when exactly it happened. I think it was a gradual jump over many episodes. The kid is big now and no longer a cute little smart-aleck. Charlie Sheen is looking a bit old for the character he is playing. And any scene with their mother is just awful. She saps what little energy is left in the show while she is on screen. I just can't imagine this show has much left in it beyond this season; it's already operating on fumes.
Agree with Bill. this and Big Bang are the funniest shows. In the same vein as All in the Family, Beverly Hillbillies, Cheers. Great cast, great humor.

The guys who don't like it are the kind who think dry, uncomfortable humor is funny, like The Office, which is unwatchable, or Worst Week, which gets worse every week. Maybe they like humorless humor. But if they can't laugh at lines like:

"he was hitting it". "don't say 'hitting it'". WEll, I have another word for it but you won't like it either. THAT was so funny.
I think a Cracked.com article summed it up best when they said:

'...They threw a bunch of somewhat complex words on a page and called it physics, much like the writers of Two and a Half Men wipe their ass on a keyboard and call what gets printed out comedy.'
I still find this show entertaining, even though Charlie's babe-magnet persona is wearing thin. He's long in the tooth, and the combination of white socks and shleppy shoes with shorts has got to go. Holland Taylor is hilarious, as is Conchata Farrell who plays the maid. I agree that it's refreshing to see a kid who's just an average Joe, not a stud-in-training or a smartass. If Rose is back for good, they're not using her as much as they should. As for Alan's percieved unattractiveness as mentioned by some posters as a reason why he could never be married or have a son, do you really believe that only great looking people get married and breed? That's Hollywood thinking. If you live in Normaltown, USA and shop in a mall, look around. You'll see it's simply not true.
