this is the ultimate irony: the very show that introduced me and many other listeners to "jumptheshark" is now discussing it's demise. in my opinion, howard jumped the shark within the year before going to sirius for many of the reasons stated above. mainly, the loss of touch with joe six-pack. the very listeners that made him who he is (was). it's a shame, but it was inevitable.

Robins right up there with Artie,I wonder if Howard will have wack pack bowling in his new mansion. maybe invite some of the retards over for a BBQ after all they're the ones who made him what he is.

I agree,Artie is the Howard Stern Show Anti Christ. He now thinks he's the end all be all of comedy, and Rev bob Levi exploiting all the Stern misfits is absolutely revolting. In the old days Howard wouldn't let these HACK comedians sully the shows property.Howard Does need to retire. He's just not funny anymore,and Artie never was. if you want to hear funny, tune into Bubba the Love Sponge.He tries hard everyday, and it shows

It's embarrassing what this show has become. The show JTSed when they brought on that fat no talent junkie Artie Lange (did he hit the lottery or what...never before have I seen a more untalented comic be so successful and he's so unfunny, not to mention racist and homophobic) and Howard is so old and tired it's sad to witness. He's totaly sold out and the show is just lame now, it's barely a comedy show, it's more like The View, only more annoying (if you can imagine that). The people he used to make fun of like Larry King and Imus is the very person he is NOW, trading in the first wife for the little trophy wife and it's pathetic, we all know Beth is only with him for his money and now she's trying to be a celebrity, nice try horseface. They can barely get a celebrity worth listening to and the show is so unfunny and all they do is kiss Howard's a** on EVERYTHING. I guess his stupid yes crew of Gary,Artie and Robin can't disagree or he'd throw a tantrum. They NEVER have an original thought on anything, they always have to agree with King Howard, especially Artie. I guess Artie realizes he'd be a nothing comic if not for Howard and the show.

His ego is out of control. I'm sick to death of hearing how great he thinks he is, his schtick was getting old 10 years ago, the same bimbos trying to get their 15 minutes and the exploitation of various low lifes and handicapped people. The show hasn't been the same since Jackie left, at least he had chemistry and Billy West ruled. Go to YouTube to hear clips of when the show was actually funnuy. Howard is so dilusional he thinks he created radio LOL, what a joke, he's as old and tired (if not more)than Imus is.

Anyway, this show is done and it's sad but at least Howard can retire with a little bit of dignity. I bet he can't wait until his contract expires and then Hamptons Howie can retire in with his golddigging trophy wife but I'd bet anyone they will be divorce by then.

I've been a Stern listener since WNBC 1983. Howard was an "everyman". Hard working Dad with a house in the burbs, an ordinary wife and 3 kids (2 back then). He has become what he used to make fun of on a daily basis. Having to hear about his wedding (to a model some 15-20 years his junior) and all the "fabulous celebrities" who were in attendance have distanced himself from his loyal fanbase.
Give me the days when he would spend 20 minutes ranting about how Allison forgot to go to the supermarket for his tuna fish. THAT was radio the average guy could relate too! Eating at Nobu or spending the weekend in the Hamptons with Billy Joel at his palacial mansion don't interest me in the least.

as an old school listener when his show came to LA in 92' it has clearly jumped the shark back in early 2007. since then its become a HUGE embarrassment and has turned into EXACTLY what he would make fun of. i was also a howard tv subscriber and in most interviews or segments you could literally see in his eyes how just gone he was from the show. what a waste. the first year at sirius was pretty good but it went down soo bad i cancelled both sirius and htv and dont even care what happens anymore. i feel bad that sirius still has to pay him 100 mill a year when hes half assing his show.

one other thing, my girlfriend was contacted by sirius since her CC was expired and she had not renewed it. after a few minutes of them pleading for her to keep it, she told them flat out that the main reason she doesnt really care for the service anymore was due to the deterioration of the show. the operator mentioned they get quite a few calls with the same reason as well.
