When Tom Selleck came on Las Vegas and James Caan left LV. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad move. You know, another NBC show jumped the shark when Martin Sheen left and Jimmy Smits came to...you guessed it. West Wing. Boo. NBC is Nothing But Crappies.

Jumpe last season

I started watching at the beginning and lost interest. Then Tom Selleck joined and I started watching again. Even went back to watch reruns with Caan which I enjoyed and wondered why I had not continued from the start. Yes, it is a campy, silly show - studs and bimbos. But it's just escapism - not to be taken so seriously as some people want to do. I watch TV mostly to escape everyday life. Now it's been cancelled, and like was said, with no really good finale! That sucks!

It started out promising but degraded to the 2 security guys doing nothing but trying to get laid every episode. Even while the ****** is being robbed, Danny is worrying about screwing Sam. These guys are totally unprofessional and I do not believe they represent Vegas security guys. In real life, I am sure they have much more intimidating guys approach you on the floor than pretty boys who weigh 185 wet.

for the most part I actually liked the show but I do have to agree with some of the comments left here. I never really liked the pairing of Danny and Dalinda....it never seemed to fit in my opinion. I would have rather seen him do the single think through out the series to see what trouble him and Mike would get into or see him hook up with Sam. I did like the last episode, but disappointed that it was left as a cliffhanger. I'm also left to wonder if that wasn't meant to be and if the strike with the writers hadn't happened we would have seen at least a 1/2 season out of this. The Nikki Cox character I never really liked. I thought that she was too whiney and needed to get over the whole Danny thing. The writers made the character look so weak that there was no substance to it at all (just an opinion).

OK.. I HAVE TO GET THIS OUT OF MY SYSTEM;
LAS VEGAS WHEN I FIRST SAW IT - WAS A GREAT EXCITING SHOW! I LOOOOOVED THE FIRST SEASON, IT HAD THE PERFECT CAST, GREAT WRITING I NEVER MISSED AN EPISODE! SECOND SEASON WAS OK , THOUGH NOT AS GOOD AS THE FIRST- BUT ALL HIT SHOWS GO THROUGH WHAT'S KNOWN AS THE SOPHOMORE SLUMP, AND USUALLY PICK UP AGAIN IN SEASON 3.HOWEVER - SEASON 3 IS WHERE LAS VEGAS BEGAN TO LOSE GROUND;HERE'S WHY;


1- NESSA WAS WRITTEN OUT- AND NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN- THIS DROVE ME NUTS- SHE NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN WRITTEN OUT THERE WAS SOO MUCH THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE WITH THE NESSA CHARACTOR.

2- three words - LARA FLYNN BOYLE

3- BIZARRE PLOT LINES- MONICA BLOWN OFF ROOF- ONLY TO BE FOUND IN A SHOE STORE WHERE DELINDA WAS SHOPPING- TOO WEIRD FOR WORDS

4- JAMES CAAN JUMPING SHIP- YES I KNOW JAMES YOUR TOO GOOD FOR TV..WHATEVER...

OK.......I FEEL BETTER NOW........

1.) The first three seasons were good. 2.)Tom Selleck with a goatee did not look right, You can tell he kept the mustache and only grew out the goatee on days that the show was filmed.
3.)Because of decline in ratings they started having every celebrity come out of the woodwork to guest star.
4.) James Caan started thinking he was too good for the show and slowly stopped appearing in the show before finally leaving.
5.) The final episode sucked because it was a cliffhanger, then the show was canceled with no real series finale.

I only watch the reruns even though the show is superficial and sophomoric and has AWFUL values ("pretty stupid women are hot and rich stupid men are cool"). Why do I watch? For James Caan, no other reson. Not that his character is interesting, but he's so good at what he does. Now that he's gone, why bother? Though the Montecito being blown up and Sam being kidnapped and Monica dying, those were all jump the shark moments.

Danny and Delida's union killed it for me. She is comic relief at best, not a romantic lead. Even ignoring her painfully skinny looks, the character has always come off as having the IQ of a box of rocks.

Nikki Cox had to leave the show before her boobs were dangling around her ankles. This show was good for about the 1st two seasons and jumped when they had that whole disappearance of the Marsha Thompson character.

The show jumped at the end of the second season when
1. Marsha Thomason left
2. They imploded the Montecito

This show jumped the shark when it first started. james caan playing the same old tired thug type as usual even if it is smoothed over with the nice guy thing. And Mary was originally supposed to be a hooker which would have been a hundred times more intersting than as a "hostess". She's a great actress but even nikki couldnt save this show which was destined for the tv show landfill! And everyone knows the casinoes are only interested in ripping off the public and keeping the public from doing the same to them.All the other stuff was to cover up how boring those places are. Just a place for senile citizens to spend their social security checks playing one armed bandits. lol

Pairing Danny with Delinda killed the show . I voted for the losing James Caan and Nikki Cox theory, but the truth is that Delinda is a whiny hag and she brings the show way down. If you had to pair Danny with anyone after sweet Mary left, then why not pair him with Sam. At least there would be some decent acting. I am on the "maybe this show should be canceled now", bandwagon. If not, then figure out a way to make Danny a single guy again. A dream sequence thing would be good for that! And then in the dream, we could find out that Ed and Mary were still there.

Losing James Caan was the dumbest thing they've done. Selleck's a good guy but he's nowhere near involved in plots the way Caan was. With Caan there was a definite edge to everything. And this dumb idea of Cooper only being called by his last name, come on! Nikki Cox leaving was no great loss, she was dull. I actually think Piper's kinda hot.

A baby for Danny! Are you f******g kidding me? Now that is what you call jumping the shark. Too bad, it was good in it's first two seasons.
