It jumped when Undertaker started putting guys on crosses "making sacrafices" what ever the **** that means.
I would have to say that the WWE started going downhill around the time that they had to change their name. It isn't fair for people to blame all of WWE's problems on John Cena(while I don't care for him any more than some of the people here do) because, let's face it, things were going downhill way before John Cena's reign at the top ever started. And we all have to face the fact that the Attitude Era is over and it isn't coming back. Austin is gone, Rock is gone, Mick Foley is in TNA, DX have run their course with founding members Triple H and HBK well past their prime and the return of Chris Jericho bombed. We just have to hope for the best that someone within WWE will wake up and create the next "Attitude Era" and the next golden age of professional wrestling. There are some great stars that are just waiting to shine but so far haven't gotten their opportunity because their too busy playing second fiddle to Triple H and Shawn Michaels, both of whom need to step away from the main event scene. I just hope there will be a day when wrestling returns to its former glory during the Attitude Era and that the wrestling business isn't truly dead.
Raw jumped the shark about six years ago. Vince McMahon doesn't care anymore. He hasn't had any competition since he bought WCW, but lately Raw has been unwatchable.

First thing wrong with Raw- the characters are too dull. Especially the top guys. Chris Jericho used to be so much fun to listen too but now he just puts me to sleep. Batista, well they call him the animal but sure doesn't act like one. He giggles like an idiot right before he starts to talk and it annoys the hell out of me.

Second thing wrong- the storylines are too dull. Nothing intriguing ever happens anymore. It's the same old boring stuff week in and week out.

Third thing wrong with Raw- there is way too much comedy. Santino Marella is so lame he makes me puke. Charlie Haas gimmick is the dumbest I've ever seen.

They need to bring back the Attitude Era but it obviously won't happen now because of the PG rating so it's becoming more and more family-friendly.
it jumped when stone cold and the rock were no longer there on a regular basis
John Cena is what killed Raw. It isn't because of his long title reign, but because he's still using a dead gimmick that's been with him since his debut.

He is a paper champion, for the writers make him seem invincible in the ring because of how many matches and PPV events he's managed to win.

Puts on a very bad in-ring performance, the only submission he knows is the STFU. Not to mention his limited move-set that he repeats over and over. I know all wrestlers do a clothesline, a suplex, lots of fists and kicks, and basic moves in their matches but c,mon. He could at least do one new move every now and then.

I feel that the WWE should have made him develop more and help him with some new moves. But it's too late for that, he debuted in what? 2002? 7 years and still the same? He needs to go.
Wrestling jumped the shark twice

1. 1997 Survivor Series (known as the Montreal Screwjob)

2. When WWF took over WCW, because Vince McMahon had a complete monopoly on the industry and therefore gave him no reason to make compelling storylines
WWE is getting good again, RAW has been very exciting the past four weeks and is much better than the crap named TNA. It still hasn't officially jumped anything yet because it always rised up again.
stupid storylines are what is wrong with the WWE. Do we really care about Edge marring Vickie Guerrero? Did Mark Henry's sexual exipades with Mae Young (you know, were she "gave birth" to a rubber glove) generate any Pay-Per-View buys? I want more focus on the in-ring action, the wrestling.
What their doing to the ECW legacy is a disgrace aswell. Why is Kane ECW champion?
I'm looking on the site, I see the reason Raw is War has jumped is... John Cena? Are you people serious? Just because he had a long title reign? Just because he beat everyone that was put in his way? I'm sorry, but that's just a bit too ridiculous. Have we forgotten the ultra-long title reigns of the '80s? Have we forgotten about "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan, and his seemingly invincibility? I mean, jeez!! Come on! To say that Cena is the reason that Raw jumped is the MOST ridiculous reasons I've ever heard. If there was a reason, then it should be the whole Vince McMahon faking his death thing. This is from a lot of people with nothing better to do than to hate Cena, for no good reason. You people who voted for that have no sense.
The old days of WWWF, NWA and AWA were and always will be the best in Pro Wrestling!

Bruno was the best champ of all time because he conducted himself with class and people knew it. The shadow of what is left today is pure circus.

Thank God for the old timers and the memories I have the rest of my life.

Sign me...the wrestler who never was...
1. Too much talking, too little wrestling

2. Hideous title devaluation - IC and US belts are losing any prestige, Tag Teams are all but non-existent

3. Ladies division decline - I've noticed more of a push over the past year w/ the ladies in terms of matches, which is nice. The fact that half of them are poorly trained is another matter. If your going to highlight them, let's at least see a competitive match.

What it really boils down to is this - WWE no longer believes it is a wrestling company so much as a television production company. They have turned Raw (and Smackdown & ECW) into something that can't decide if it wants to be a sports program or some kind of primetime drama/comedy. Re-emphasize the titles, cut out some of the talking, and in general re-emphasize the the sports end of it 9the actual physicality of the match, for example) and you might get somewhere.
The whole WWE jumped the shark in 2001 when Vince McMahon eliminated all of his competition and basically decided there is no need to provide a quality show week in and week out like he did during the Monday Night Wars.Since 2001 MacMahon has done whatever he has felt like doing instead of what the fans want.John Cena, despite the fans making it clear about how much they despise him, continues to get shoved down our throats. Then there's Vince's son-in-law Triple H who has had a habit of stepping all over talented wrestlers who are worthy of a push. The way the tag team division is treated is pathetic. They've gone from awesome teams like the Hardy Boys, the Dudley Boys and Edge and Christian to ridiculous teams such as Jesse and Festus, Marella and Carlito, etc.The IC and U.S. titles are a joke as well. TNA, as silly as it is with all those stupid gimmicks, is actually in some ways more fun to watch than the WWE because it's full of surprises and we never know what to expect whereas in the WWE everything is stale and predictable. The creative team needs to get a clue. And if the right guys are pushed to the top then the WWE may be able to bounce back.
I agree about the titles being devalued in wrestling.
You play hot potato with a belt too many times and gets to the point that a title win means very little to the fans OR the stars that wear it for that matter
Back in the glory days of the NWA and even into the early years of WCW, guys like Ric Flair put credibility into a championship.
When WWE puts their minds to it, they can do good things for example the recent Ric Flair tribute show that literally had me in tears, but after that it was business as usual.
The reason that particular show went over so well was because the guys were allowed to just simply be themselves and to show their appreciation to Flair to cap off his illustrious 36 year career.
Give Ric Flair the mic and boy do you have my attention, and that's how the segment started.
When entire shows are scripted by people who know very little about the business, then what will you end up with?
They have started a good storyline with Batista and Michaels, and it has a great story to move it forward, but for the most part the creative team at WWE have very little knowledge about the actual sport of wrestling, so it's not too likely that they could ever consistently book good matches that we want to see.
I long for the days of yesteryear when every match told a believable story and physiques did not matter all that much.
idk what to think about this show ne more...has it jumped the shark??? well lets b honest, the day it jumped was when ne body really thought ne of this stuff was real. RAW was a great show back in the day and what made that show great was competition. they don't have that ne more...but they could...smackdown at the end of the season is leaving CW...don't bring it back, but instead change it and bring back WCW Nitro...wait, don't stop reading...bring back Eric, Nitro, Goldberg etc. and have completely different writers on both brands. that way the writers aren't trying to top what they just wrote, but rather waiting to see what they're fellow writers r going to come up with on that friday Nitro...if ya think about it, it could work...cuz honestly if they don't step it up, TNA, as much as nobody wants to admit, will take over and become higher in the ratings. If you were to watch an episode of it, you'd swear u were watching an old episode of Nitro or Raw...they r at basics, with no big stage performance, how it used to b. every 5 yrs that Raw stage gets bigger and bigger, i swear pretty soon 10 ppl r gonna b able to watch it live cuz the stage take over the whole stadium...but yea, bring back WCW..then u'll have WWE, ECW and WCW all fighting to b on the top again...oh yea, and get rid of cena...the guy is an entertainer, but not a wrestler...in my view, the WWE tried to combine the personalities of The ROCK and Stone Cold Steve Austin. they realized that they weren't gonna get them back completely if at all, so it seemed like WWE just tried to replace them with something similar...and for the love of god get a respectable title belt...that spinner belt has worn out its welcome...if only someone would put in the effort, the shows could b saved...maybe???
