I think this was one of the last Disney shows that was actually funny and likable. I admire the fact that they didn't rely on a laugh track set on "11" to tell you when to laugh.
The combination of the characters Ren and Louis is what made it a hit...very good show indeed, would have even done well on something other than Disney....I think Louis wore a shirt to sleep though, which I don't think would be realistic
Beleive it or not, I just became a fan of this show in February (due to Shia's fine work in other media). This is simply a well done, clean, and funny sitcom. It may have been made for kids but it is better than most of the current day crop of prime time sitcom.
Shia is great but then the whole cast shines. Have seen Donna Pescow's work
in other media and she is always a delight as well. The other kids (especially the one that plays Twitty)
are great as well.
I wonder if they would be willing to make a reunion movie (maybe for Ren or
Donnie's wedding)? Of course Shia would probably not be willing to do it but they can always explain his absense.
Who knows?
Hate it took me eight years to discover this little gem and yes--I'd like to see it back on Disney because WGN only runs it two times a week early in the morning. Nita

i dont like the part that they dont have even stvens on disney channel any more that was my favorite show i want to bring back ever stevens whos whit me
If this is possible, it jumped when it was cancelled, basically...the later shows were fantastic! By then, it was apparent that the cast knew each other's strengths, and they had their characters nailed down, unlike EVERY other show the Disney Channel has produced since(for a reference, check out the reprehensibly unlikeable characters in "Phil of the Future", created by the SAME people!)
Why this show had to die to make way for That's So Raven, The Suite Life, Corey In The House, and all the other two-bit, half-assed attempts at entertainment these people have unleashed is a crime against humanity.
P.S. Somebody call Shia Labeauf and ask him to PLEASE star in a comedy again! Am I right, people? Just one movie, that's all I ask...

Even Stevens was a very funny show during all three seasons. Louis is one of the memorable characters in TV history. It never jumped the shark but it would have if they made more seasons. Remember that much of the action is set in a school that Ren (8th grade) and Louis (7th grade) both attend. By the third season Louis had obviously grown a lot so they were going to have to move the kids up a grade. This would have prevented the two from meeting up as often and many comedic situations simply couldn't take place. I understand why many of you hate Disney's old 65 episode rule but in this case it made some sense.
Even Stevens was the funniest show after The Simpsons stopped being must-see TV. King of the Hill and South Park provided some competion but they were rather uneven from episode to episode. The only weak episode of Evens Stevens that I can recall was the one about Granma's Ghost and Hannuka. Cue violins. And the final season was SLIGHTLY less funny but Ren looked better than ever. Tawnee remained off the scale at 11 plus ending the series with a really excellent movie was a bonus and a nice way to go out: on top.
As for the much-maligned Beans: Beans episodes are funny episodes and at least they didn't write him in as being adopted.

i LOVED this show. This was my favorite show i was dissapointed when i found out there was no more even stevens. Also one of my favorite episode was when louis and detenction friend Cloe helped ren brake into the school to finish the shelf. I miss even stevens but it ended with a GREAT movie=)
I think it jumped in the episode where Ren takes the money and buys pants. This is Ren Stevens, when did she ever care how she looked with the exception of the Braces episode which was weird too.
Also when they aired Kennywood Park (The Amusement Park in that Flashback Episode) instead of Magic Mountain. For gods sake, Magic Mountain is in Los Angelas and that's where the show was set!!!!! You might as well show us Tokyo DisneySeas!!!!!

its funny only pne person from that show. shia labouf made it big, but yet that show was still amazing.
At everyone talking about Disney's policies:
Disney has (or, used to have, I guess) a policy of ending shows after 65 episodes. According to Wikipedia, Even Stevens had 65 episodes.
I think this is a stupid policy, and I hate that they waited until they had ended good shows due to this policy, like Even Stevens and So Weird, to bend the rules for crap shows like That's So Raven and Sweet Life Of Zach & Cody.
Shame on Disney.
