I think the series lasted just one season or less. Help?"

Mark asked:
"I seem to recall growing up in the '70s a series that ran on PBS about a co-ed camp. The only episode that I remember centered around one of the kids who has to leave the camp--maybe because of his parent's divorcing--and he goes home because they couldn't afford to keep him in the camp. It was a depressing episode, because the kid comes home and everything about his household has fallen apart. If I remember correctly, he was an overweight kid that I think had red hair and maybe wore glasses. I'm pretty sure the series was set in New York. Does this ring a bell with anyone?"

Jon asked:
"This fantasy/sci fi series ran on one of the primary networks (NBC/ABC/CBS) sometime between 1970 and 1983; I'm thinking it was 1978-ish because I dimly recall Quark! airing at roughly the same time. It featured a group of people...an older guy and a really young boy, and I think a twenty-ish female...who were somehow travelling through either time, or through space. I vaguely recall that the young boy might be telepathic. Total over-use of lens flare effects. The major identifying feature, however, was the 'bad guy' in the series, who kept trying to capture our lost crew. The 'bad guy' consisted of this little pink brain that was sitting inside a clear plastic bubble, and I think it had pinkish bubbling fluid around it. It could speak over speakers....but the kicker was that anytime you saw it, the brain part was inflating and deflating, and it was SO outrageously hysterical you fell off the sofa everytime the durn thing showed up. Needless to say, this series didn't make it past the first season. What was the name of the series?"
The answer is...
"The Fantastic Journey"

It centered around a family (dad, mom, son, daughter) that, on vacation, enters a pyramid and winds up being transported to an obelisk on some different world. The world was somewhat like earth, everyone spoke English, wore clothes, etc., but it seemed to be ruled by a vicious dictator who was chasing after them in every episode. The bad guys all drove around in dune buggies and wearing gestapo type uniforms while everyone else walked around in tunics. The family, looking for answers, eventually enters another temple and are asked a bunch of questions about Abe Lincoln by a hologram. Weird! Cathy asked:
"I vaguely remember a short-lived drama series, possibly early 80s, which dealt with the lives of 2 families. The wife in one of the families was an architect or an engineer and was pregnant; I think she and her husband already had several kids and the pregnancy was a “surprise” thing. There was some question over whether she could do her job well while pregnant and this created a lot of tension, both at home and at her job. The other wife in the other family was a stay-at-home mom and yearned for something else, but she wasn’t sure what. I remember an episode where she went to a college and was trying to decide if she wanted to enroll. The two wives were friends, but since their lives were so different it made for some drama. I remember the SAH mom was played by an actress who was once a dancer, but danged if I can remember her name. She was shown in one episode doing ballet-type exercises. I really liked what little I saw of this show. It had a lot of heart and, as I recall, good writing of the scripts."

"For a ridiculously long time, my friends and I have pondered this inane question.... "What was the name of the twins (or triplets- we can't remember the number of gene splits) who Fonzi always dated or talked about dating. I don't think you ever actually saw them but the Fonz would say something like, "Richie, you're wasting my time when I got to go and meet the______twins!" and Richie and stupid ol' Ralph Malph and Potsie would all say "Whoooo! The ______twins?!" Or something like that. It's all too gross when you think about it now, really. I mean Henry Winkler was like 40 and all, and Potsie just always looked really oily...but still, I watched the show about 3-4 times a day. What was wrong with me??? Anyhow, thanks, I hope someone can solve this dilemma. I will be able to die with dignity and spend eternity with the Lord."

"This has been driving me crazy for years and I hope someone can help. This sitcom debuted in the timeslot of "The Hogan Family" one monday night after "ALF." I seem to remember it was only on for a few episodes and "The Hogan Family" came back. The basic plot was a little like "Beetlejuice." A nice, normal couple dies in an accident. They come back as ghosts and a really nutty family has moved into their house.

"I'm looking for the title of a mini-series that aired sometime in the early-mid eighties.

They come back as ghosts and a really nutty family has moved into their house.
